The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.

Rainforest of Reading in Montserrat, Grenada

November 18, 2014

What: Tour of Gift Days
When: November 18-28
Where: Santa Lucia, Grenada, Montserrat

Rainforest of Reading is a book festival featuring 24 award-winning children’s books from Canada, planting its roots in schools throughout the Eastern Caribbean: in Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Montserrat. The two-week event engages 4,000 Grade 3 students in over 100 primary schools. It is the largest literacy initiative ever undertaken in a region still reeling from infrastructure damage caused by Hurricane Ivan (2006) and Hurricane Tomas (2010) and the economic impact of a global recession.

See more about the 2014 festival or about my book at the festival.
