WORKSHOP: THE STRAIGHT SCOOP ON PICTUREBOOKS: FROM SNAPPY BEGINNINGS TO TWISTED ENDINGS

Picturebooks may be written for the small, but their significance can be enormous. They spark
our imagination, challenge our conceptions, unite us in universal narratives, and move us beyond words. From snappy beginnings to twisted endings, this hands-on workshop will look closely at the synergistic craft of picturebook authorship through examples, discussions, and performance.

Topics will include character building, plot development, sub-genres, page turns, conflict,
emotional resonance, and voice
