Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters!
November 28, 2009
After a 2 1/2 hour defense held today at UBC, before a scholarly and inspiring committee (Drs. Theresa Rogers, Carl Leggo, Maureen Kendrick, George Belliveau, Donal O Donoghue) and external examiner Dr. Marjorie Siegel, and in front of a full-house audience, my dissertation “Authorship as Assemblage: Multimodal Literacy as Creative Play, Literature, and Drama” was awarded “A” level and I am now Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters!
These pictures are of me (on the right) and my “Comp Group,” the team of fellow students (sadly missing Dr. Kim Lenters who is currently in South America) that helped pull me through this 9-year project (if you count my Masters), and of me and my mom, who’s been equally invaluable.
I am leaping for joy!
