First week of giving

January 6, 2011

This year my New Year’s Resolution is to give back to those people, organizations, and charities that are important in my life. As a parent, I try to teach my children the importance of appreciating, respecting, and giving to others. It is time for me to walk the walk.

Week #1–Give CAKE.
I know a lot of people in my area (St. Catharines, Ontario) who are celebrating birthdays in December and January. As a way to celebrate them and their importance in my life, I decided to throw a party and give cake. We had a wonderful time chatting, playing board games, and eating ice cream cake.

I may make this celebration a yearly tradition.
